Dolphin Neurostim is a hand-held device used for Microcurrent Point Stimulation, or MPS. It delivers brief, low-level direct-current stimulation at selected points on the skin. The manufacturer describes MPS as combining microcurrent stimulation with acupuncture and trigger-point concepts.
Steve is a Certified Dolphin Neurostim Practitioner with training in pain-focused protocols, scar release, auricular applications, vagus nerve stimulation, and post-concussion musculoskeletal support. Standalone MPS is offered as a distinct, non-RMT service. When MPS is instead considered during an RMT appointment, that use remains part of the agreed massage therapy plan rather than a standalone booking.

Dolphin Neurostim may also be incorporated into a registered massage therapy appointment when appropriate, without an additional modality fee.

Standalone Dolphin Neurostim (MPS) Therapy is not provided or billed as Registered Massage Therapy. An RMT insurance receipt will not be issued, and the service is not eligible for reimbursement under Massage Therapy benefits. Some extended-health plans or health spending accounts may consider microcurrent electrotherapy eligible. Coverage varies by plan; clients must confirm directly with their insurer before booking. Pain Management Therapy

MPS applies brief direct-current micro-impulses to selected acupuncture and trigger points. It may complement massage therapy and exercise when soft-tissue discomfort, sensitivity, muscle tension, or movement tolerance are relevant goals.

For fully healed scars, two Dolphin devices may be applied on opposite sides of the scar and paired with manual techniques. Goals can include local comfort, sensitivity, tissue mobility, and movement. Open or incompletely healed tissue is not treated.

An ear-clip attachment delivers gentle, non-invasive microcurrent near the auricular branch of the vagus nerve. After screening, it may be considered for vagus nerve-informed relaxation protocols. It is not an implanted medical VNS device.

Can MPS be used on a scar?
Scar-focused techniques are considered only after the tissue is fully healed and after relevant screening. Open, infected, or incompletely healed tissue is not treated.
Is this the same as an implanted vagus nerve stimulator?
No. Dolphin’s ear-clip application uses external, low-level microcurrent near the ear. It is not an implanted medical VNS device and does not replace medical care.
