Care with context

Treatment should fit
the person.

Assessment-driven massage therapy begins with a focused health history, a conversation about your goals, and an assessment appropriate to your presentation. Treatment is then selected with you rather than applied as the same routine to everyone.

For active adults and athletes, sports massage therapy is not a separate fixed routine. The session considers your sport, training load, recovery demands, current limitations, and the activities you want to resume. Treatment may include manual therapy, movement assessment, rehabilitation guidance, and Dolphin Neurostim when appropriate and consented to.

The essentials,
up front.

Who this helps

Professionals with desk-related tension, active adults, strength athletes, golfers, tennis players, and people managing persistent musculoskeletal discomfort.

What we work on

Lower-back and shoulder discomfort; muscle tension; movement restriction; occupational or training-related overload; and recovery between demanding periods.

Why work with Steve

Steve combines regulated RMT practice with CSCS® strength and conditioning expertise, transparent fees, ongoing consent, and clear referral when a concern falls outside his scope.

A useful starting point

Common reasons to begin with RMT.

  • You want sports massage or hands-on care that considers your activity, work, and training demands.
  • A recurring area of tension or discomfort is limiting sleep, work, exercise, or sport.
  • You want a clearer bridge between treatment, self-management, and progressive activity.
  • You value an explanation of the plan, alternatives, and what will be reassessed.

What happens next

Assess. Decide.
Progress.

Understand the goal

Review your health history, current concern, prior care, daily demands, and what a useful outcome would mean to you.

Assess what is relevant

Use in-scope observation, palpation, movement, and functional testing only where it helps guide the session.

Treat with consent

Agree on the proposed techniques, positioning, pressure, alternatives, and boundaries before and throughout treatment.

Reassess and plan

Review your response and decide whether home guidance, exercise, another RMT visit, or referral is the next useful step.

Clinical boundaries

When another assessment should come first.

New or worsening neurological symptoms, progressive weakness, significant trauma, unexplained systemic symptoms, chest pain, severe headache, or other urgent concerns require appropriate medical assessment. Massage therapy does not replace emergency or medically necessary care.

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before
you request.

Do you offer sports massage therapy?

Yes. Steve provides Registered Massage Therapy for lifters, athletes, and active adults. Sports massage describes the activity and performance context of the care, not a separate credential, fixed technique, or guaranteed outcome. Assessment, consent, goals, and your response still guide the session.

Do I need a referral for massage therapy?

A referral is not generally required to book an RMT appointment, but your insurance plan may require one for reimbursement. Confirm the requirements of your specific plan.

Will I receive an RMT receipt?

Yes. Eligible massage therapy appointments are documented and receipted under Min Moo (Steve) Lee, RMT. Coverage and reimbursement depend on your insurer and plan.

Do you bill insurance providers directly?

No. Direct insurance billing is not available. You will receive an RMT receipt for an eligible appointment to submit to your insurer or benefits provider. Coverage and reimbursement depend on your specific plan.

How long should my first appointment be?

The recommended starting option is 60 minutes so there is time for history, assessment, informed consent, treatment, and a clear plan. A different duration may be appropriate depending on your needs.

How is Dolphin Neurostim different from a standalone MPS appointment?

During an RMT appointment, MPS may be integrated without a separate modality fee when it is appropriate to the massage therapy plan and you consent. A standalone Dolphin MPS appointment is a distinct, non-RMT service with its own fee; no RMT insurance receipt is issued for that service.
